Omani-Style Mosque with Castellated Parapet

Omani-Style Mosque with Castellated Parapet

01. Project Overview

This mosque design draws on traditional Omani civic architecture — a low, solid white massing topped with a stepped, castellated (crenellated) parapet, paired with a tall, slender minaret that anchors the composition from a distance. Deep-set arched doorways with dark timber-framed carved doors punctuate the plain façade, giving the building a fortified, dignified presence.

02. Exterior Design

The prayer hall reads as a single continuous white volume, its roofline finished in a stepped castellated parapet with narrow slit vents at intervals. Recessed arched bays carry deep-toned timber doors with carved geometric panels, each framed by a plain stone surround. Set apart from the main block, a tall cylindrical minaret with a fluted shaft and gallery band rises well above the roofline, capped with a small ribbed dome and crescent finial.

03. Landscaping & Setting

Date palms and ornamental shrubs are planted along the entrance façade, with a paved forecourt and driveway wrapping the building to grade level. A low boundary treatment keeps the site open and visible from the street.
