Contemporary Mosque with Illuminated Pattern-Clad Minarets
01. Project Overview
This mosque takes the most minimalist, contemporary approach in Oryx Engineering Consultancy's religious portfolio — plain stone-clad box volumes with almost no applied ornament, set against a pair of slender twin minarets whose geometric kufic-pattern panels are lit from within at night. The result reads more as a piece of architectural sculpture than a traditional mosque silhouette.

02. Exterior Design
Two plain, offset stone-clad volumes form the prayer hall massing, one panel carrying a large-scale geometric kufic pattern in relief. A full-height bronze-toned glazed and metal-panelled entrance sits at the join between the two volumes, framed by a projecting canopy. Twin square-plan minarets — smooth stone shafts topped with backlit geometric-pattern panels — flank the entrance and are the building's most distinctive feature at night, glowing white against the stone.
03. Landscaping & Setting
Mature date palms are planted close to the entrance on both sides, softening the otherwise hard-edged geometry of the building, with low planting and paving completing the immediate forecourt.
